Chicago has many great things going on. We have an incredible Nightlife, a lot of public transportation, and many activities for all ages. Even though we have all of this awesomeness in Chicago, we still have a lot of not so great things in Chicago. The nightlife can be extremely dangerous,  as well as all of the public transportation. Also, the activities around Chicago can be incredibly expensive no matter how old you are. The bad side of this wonderful city can affect us all.

Living in Chicago is great, but going out can be a scary thing to do no matter if you’re from Chicago or not. A night of hanging out with friends can turn out to be you giving a statement to the police in a matter of seconds. Many acts of random violence go on in this city, and a lot of people happen to be there at the wrong time. That’s one of the scariest things, is to go out and then all of a sudden your whole life has turned upside down. Who want’s to be in a city that’s prone to violence?

Most people in Chicago take public transportation, even when going out to enjoy the nightlife. Taking Public Transportation is nice and cheap, but it can also be dangerous. Taking the “L”  or CTA can be a good or bad experience, while waiting on the train or bus you or someone else can get hurt. There are a lot of  violent activities near bus stops, and near the train, but people have to get around, so we test our faith and wait on our transportation. Taking public transportation should be an easy thing to do, but it can be one of the hardest things to do.

The activities around the city of Chicago can hurt our pockets. Things that are free in other cities/states are pricey here. Finding cheap or free activities in the city can be scarce, you will have to a lot of research just to enjoy the city. The museums in the downtown area have free days in certain months, but that is only for Illinois residents. The pricing in Chicago doesn’t benefit tourist or residents, living here can be hard, but imagine when tourists come and they don’t have the budget to actually enjoy Chicago.
